Aggregates are very important materials in the construction industry. In the mainland, this resource is not only rarer and rarer, but its exploitation causes great impact to the environment, so many countries have been exploiting marine aggregate, answering the great speed of construction. At present time, the materials used in the construction in ViÖt Nam is exploited from river beds, old river beds together with grinded rock. The exploitation of aggregate has been causing the loss of some other resources and negative impacts to the environment.

This article introduces the forecasted resource and quality of the aggregate in the shallow-sea floor of ViÖt Nam, its quality standard, exploitable depth, processing methods, price in some countries, and the impacts and possible dispute caused by its exploitation. Some orientations for further investigation are also presented with the hope to see in the near future the establishment of the industry of exploitation of marine aggregate in ViÖt Nam, serving the demand of industrialization and modernization of the country.
