The colour of tourmaline is very various. Owing to its pyroelectric and piezoelectric properties, tourmaline is used in radio industry. Rubellite, a pink lithium-manganese variety of elbaite, is a gemstone.

By the study on tourmaline from the Th¹ch Kho¸n Pegmatite, this paper shows that: 1) The form of rounded triangle in cross-section, and radially fibrous aggregates are regarded as a characteristic features; 2) All result of analysis by polarizing microscope, microsonde, and X- ray diffraction allow to indicate that tourmaline of the Th¹ch Kho¸n Pegmatite mainly belongs to schorlite.
