Through the research on Cenozoic volcanic rocks in ViÖt Nam zeolite mineralization was first discovered in Neogene volcanites in the coastal areas of South Central ViÖt Nam. There are two genetic types of zeolite mineralizations: volcanic - sedimentary, and volcanic – hydrothermal.

Zeolite minerals consist of phillipsite, heulandite, chabasite and laumontite. A part of them changed into minerals of bentonite, because of unstable neotectonic conditions and too thick development of the weathering crust.
