On the quality of natural water sources in Hµ Néi City

The quality of natural water plays an important role, controlling any urban activities. Therefore, during the last decades, there were some research projects evaluating the water resources of Hµ Néi, presenting a real situation on ability of exploitation, utilisation and environmental protection. Based on the obtained datum sources, co-ordinating with supplementary research and sampling, the author of this paper has been systematically evaluating the quality of natural water sources in Hµ Néi: surface water (river, lake) and groundwater within the Quaternary sediments.
The research result has shown that, water of the Red river, West lake has almost not been polluted yet. Water from lower aquifer (qp aquifer) has manifestation of pollution in some points. The other sources have more or less strong manifestation of contamination of some components. The natural water of Hµ Néi are polluted mainly by the impact of urban waste water (industrial and living), the decomposition of solid wastes (from graveyard, rubbish dumps,...) and other human activities.
