Seismic hazard assessment in Việt Nam mainland territory on the basis of neodeterministic algorithm

Cao Đ́nh Triều, Franco V., Nguyễn Hữu Tuyên, Nguyễn Thế Hùng

In this paper the authors present some results of seismic hazard assessments in Việt Nam on the basis of neodeterministic algorithm. The following conclusions can be made:

- The maximum magnitude of earthquake occurences in Việt Nam may reach the average values of 6.5-7.0 Richter degree in West Bắc Bộ region.

- The maximum average values of DGA, using EC8 for A class of the bedrock, can reach 0.15-0.30 g in high seismic areas (1 g = 980 cm/s2), while the maximum average values of Vmax are 15.0-30.0 cm/s; and Dmax – 7.0-15.0 cm.
