Re-Os dating of molybdenite from the Ô Quy Hồ - Bản Khoang molybdenum mineralization belt and its geological significance

The dating of molybdenite method by the Re-Os isotopic system has been applied widely in ore mineral deposits research. Molybdenite samples from the Ô Quy Hồ - Bản Khoang molybdenum mineralization belt has been taken as an example. Six analyses of 5 samples gave an isochronic age of 36±1 Ma. The metallogenic epoch of the Ô Quy Hồ - Bản Khoang molybdenum mineralization belt is similar to that of the Jinsha Jiang - Red River porphyry Cu-Mo metallogenic belt in Eastern Tibet. The result also implies that there may be occurrences of Cenozoic porphyry Cu-Mo in Northwest Việt Nam.
