Geoheritage research and geopark establishment in Việt Nam

The investigation on geoheritages, establishment of geological conservation areas and geopark fields is nimed to protect, conserve, manage and exploit reasonably geoheritages for sustainable development of the country. Vietnamese geoscientists have been doing fairly well the geoheritage research and investigation. They have approached, identified, described and classified hundreds of geoheritages according to requirement of international integration exchange, as well as proposed to establish conservation areas, reckon geoheritages and geoconservation areas; proposed to establish geoparks. The real situation of the process of research on geoheritages in Việt Nam has been developed more slowly than developed countries in the region and in the world due to some reasons. Up to now, in Việt Nam there is not any established geoconservation area or geopark.
