Development potentiality of medical hydrotherapy based on mineral water sources in Việt Nam

Việt Nam has abundant and diversified mineral water resources with great usage value for various purposes, including disease treatment, health care and ecological tourism. For more than haft century already, some sources were effectively exploited for public health care and protection. Unfortunately, due to the inadequately consideration of the responsible authorities, the activities on hydrotherapy in our country is still backward in comparison with the economic development, as well as the present socio-economic requirements.

The authors, being enthusiastic geologists and pharmacists, propose some ideas for establishing the medical hydrotherapy in combination with curative tourism based upon the usage of thermomineral water, which has high potential in the country.
