The arsenic pollution risk in natural environment of Việt Nam and preventive solutions

The arsenic pollution in natural environment of Việt Nam has been met not only in mountainous regions, but also in groundwater of some deltaic areas. The arsenic pollution in mountainous regions is mainly related to hydrothermal deposits which have high arsenic content. There are many minerals bearing arsenic in hydrothermal deposits, among them the main one is arsenopyrite (FeAsS). The high arsenic in hydrothermal deposits is not only in fresh rocks, but also in the weathering crust and soil; a small amount of arsenic from these deposits moves into surface water and groundwater. Viet Nam belongs to tropical zone with a lot of sunlight and rainfall and heavy rains after blazing sun, that can cause toxic air with arsenic. Some preventive solutions for mountainous area are pointed out in the paper.
