Dividing up exploratory deposit groups and orienting the exploratory
methods
for uranium ores in
Việt Nam

The works of investigation
and evaluation of uranium ores in Việt Nam had been paid attention since
the 80 decade of the XX century. With the limited degree of research, however,
the exploratory experiences are really deficient. Thus, the investigation on
types of forming origins and types of industrial origins, and the determination
of basic elements for dividing and arranging the groups of exploratory deposits
and exploratory systems corresponding with each type of origin of uranium ores,
are essential. These works have not only the scientific value, but also the
practical one. Basing on the synthesis of data on uranium exploration in
different places and correlation with the schema of division of the
International Atomic Energy Agency, we can recognize the existence of 6 types of
forming origin of uranium ores in Việt Nam, among them, the uranium ores
formed in sandstone in the Nông Sơn basin is of high potential. At the same
time, we initially suggest the standards to divide different groups of exploratory
deposits, confirm that the uranium ores in Việt Nam belong to the type III (in
the group of exploratory deposits), and suggest a combination of exploratory
methods applying in exploratory works of uranium ores and orienting the
exploratory net which has been arranged for every group of exploratory
deposits.
