SUMMARY

Discovery of the anomaly of synthetic radioactive isotopes
in the Hồng (Red) and Đà (Black) river basins, Việt
Nam

Nguyễn Trung Minh

The Hồng (Red) and Đà (Black) river basins are the biggest ones in the North Việt Nam. They appear in the Chinese territory, then extend via Việt Nam to the East Việt Nam Sea. Tens millions of Vietnamese are living in this area, therefore the research on the environment of these river basins is very important and necessary.

The samples were collected in some localities in Lào Cai, Yên Bái, Tuyên Quang, Thác Bà, Việt Trì and Hà Nội (Chèm).

The concentration of the uranium in river water, filtered materials and zircon in the Hồng and Đà river basins were estimated by the detector track and alpha mass-spectrometer methods (in the Vernadsky Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, Russia).

The results are as follows: in all 6 zircon monocrystal samples (LC, YB, TQ, TB, VT and CH) is recorded the energy parameter Ea = 5.247 - 5.313 MeV. It may be infected by one of the isotopes 232U, 243Am or 210Po, having the half-live of 68.9 years, 7370 years and 138.4 days, respectively.

The problem is what is the source of the anomaly of above synthetic isotopes in the Hồng and Đà rivers and how they can be diffused ? It must be to continue the research more in detail and to repeat the analysis at least during 3 years.
