Abstract: The geochemical
analyses of more than 200 hot water samples collected from different areas,
geological conditions and geothermal regimes entire territory of Việt Nam
has been identified a large number of heat sources in Central region with the
indication on young magmatic origin is prospective as worldwide for electrical
generation; The results of firstly using a combination of geological,
geochemical, geophysical methods in Việt Nam to study the geothermal
system in the area of Bang hot spring - Quảng Bình province. It has
identified the location and indications of the model of a typical
hydro-geothermal system with magmatic origin. Reservoir temperature has been
determined by geochemical thermometers, giving values in the range of
167-210◦C; from modelling results, temperature of the reservoir can reach
200◦C at the depth of 2 km. The obtained data allows to determine the
suitable location for exploration drilling to the reservoir in the next phase
of the Geothermal Program; Obtained results let propose next phase of program:
test drilling to a depth of 2.5 km to control parameters of geothermal reservoir
in area Bang will be serve as the database for designing pilot geothermal plant
here. The used method should be applied to determine the geothermal reservoir
for other prospective geothermal resources in Central region is a Government
proposing in strategy for development renewable energy in Việt Nam.
