Geological survey, evaluative
prospecting and exploration of rare earth ore in Nậm Xe Area have been
conducted since 1958. As a result, an area with large
resource and reserve potential of rare earth and radioactive metals have
been delineated. However, there are still many
issues to be debated regarding the specialized in-depth research on material
composition and metallurgical properties of rare earth ores in South Nậm Xe deposit. The
results of research by the geologists of the
Geological Division for Radioactive and Rare Minerals in the last period have
in the first step elucidated the structural, textural characteristics and
genesis of the ore in South Nam Xe Deposit. In this paper, the authors provide some new information and judgements on the characteristics of rare earth ore mineralization in South Nậm Xe Area -
