Outstanding results of geological mapping and mineral investigation
of the Văn Chấn Area, Yên Bái Province

The results of project entitled “1:50.000 scaled geological mapping and mineral investigation of the Văn Chấn Area, Yên Bái Province” have contributed much new data on geology and mineral resources, which are very useful in both scientific and practical values.

This paper presents some new findings derived from geological mapping of the Văn Chấn Area in order to clarify the preCambrian geological objects, to define lithology, fossil, stratigraphic boundary and relavant mineral resources of the Devonian, Carboniferous formations as well as to discover new mineral occurrances and mineralizations of iron, copper, lead-zinc, gold, art stone, kaolinnite, feldspar, limestone for cement production, which have not been well defined previously. We hope that these new data are orientations for mapping correction and correlation of ajacent mineral andgeological map sheets scaled at 1:50 000 in northwestern area of the North Việt Nam.
